About This Class
This energetic power yoga flow with Travis Eliot is anchored by three guiding mental qualities — calmness, concentration, and equanimity — that students are invited to revisit throughout the entire practice as a moving meditation. The class opens in Child's Pose, warms up through tabletop balance work (Bird-Dog / Sunbird), and builds methodically through multiple rounds of Sun Salutation-style vinyasa sequences. Standing work features Warrior One, Warrior Two, Reverse Warrior, Extended Side Angle, Crescent Pose, Warrior Three / Airplane, Standing Splits, Half Moon (Ardha Chandrasana), Chair Pose (Utkatasana), and a demanding balancing sequence including floating pigeon and extended standing leg raises. Transitions include Chaturanga Dandasana, Up Dog, and Down Dog as recurring linking elements. Lunging prayer twists and side plank variations add core challenge and thoracic rotation. The floor series includes deep hip flexor and quad stretches in low lunge, Pigeon Pose, a seated forward fold (Dandasana / Paschimottanasana), Bridge and full Wheel (Urdhva Dhanurasana), Happy Baby, Plow, Shoulder Stand, and reclining twists before a guided Savasana with breath awareness and a closing Om and Shanti chant. The instructor explicitly frames the practice as beneficial for stress and mental noise, and encourages backing off into Child's Pose whenever calmness, focus, or equanimity feel compromised.
