About This Class

Power Yoga "Kung Fu" is a 32-minute approachable flow class that fuses traditional yoga with the philosophy and movement aesthetics of Kung Fu and Tai Chi. Guided by the metaphor of water—moving with fluid grace and power—the class opens in Child's Pose and builds through sun-salutation-style vinyasas into a rich standing sequence featuring Warrior One, Warrior Two, Humble Warrior, Crouching Tiger, Reverse Warrior, and a unique Warrior Two "Kung Fu" variation. Creative signature poses include Floating Pigeon (Kung Fu Panda style), a kneeling side-body stretch with a kicking extension (Bruce Lee kick), Horse Stance with Tai Chi–inspired arm circles (Wheel of Vitality), Karate Kid balancing pose, Chair Twist, and Lunging Prayer Twist. The class also includes a playful set of five knuckle push-ups as a strength challenge. The standing work emphasizes hip opening, inner thigh and groin stretching, shoulder loosening, and balance, while the closing floor sequence slows things down with Cow Pose (Gomukhasana-style seated fold) on both sides before a final Savasana. Throughout, the instructor weaves themes of humility, fluidity, mindfulness, and the balance of yin and yang, making this class as meditative in spirit as it is physically engaging. Ideal for practitioners looking for a fun, themed flow that builds strength, flexibility, and balance while keeping an approachable, playful tone.

Thank you, Travis, my daughter reintroduced me to this marvelous practice; tomorrow, we will delve into your longer Kung Fu practice. I have always been grateful for your gentle Spirit, regardless of levels of difficulty.
