About This Class
Bryan Kest leads a wide-ranging 100-minute flow that opens with an unusually unhurried, floor-based beginning — supine butterfly, reclined twists, bridge, shoulder stand, and plow — before easing into a wide-legged seated forward fold and its variations. The class then transitions onto hands and knees and gradually builds a sun-salutation-style flow: down dog, lateral plank stretches, cobra series, uttanasana, chair pose, and crescent lunges, all linked by synchronized breath. The standing sequence deepens significantly with revolved lunge, triangle, warrior variations, and a demanding bird of paradise pose performed on both sides. A backbend arc — from baby cobra through full wheel — is woven in before the class winds back down through supine twists, knee-to-chest counter poses, a rocking spinal massage, and a seated gratitude meditation. Throughout, Bryan emphasizes finding a personal "sweet spot" — never more than necessary — and consistently coaches deep, free, nasal breathing as the primary tool for building calm, presence, and resilience both on and off the mat.
