About This Class
Morning Cuppa Flow is a short, dynamic Sun Salutation sequence designed to energize the body first thing in the morning. Instructor Desiree Crossman leads a breath-synchronized flow that begins with grounding breathwork — including a visualization of three-dimensional, diaphragmatic breathing — before moving into repeated rounds of modified and full Sun Salutations. Blocks are used throughout to support forward folds and lunges, making the class accessible to practitioners with tighter hamstrings or lower back sensitivity. Key modifications include bringing the knees to the floor in place of full Chaturanga, a baby Cobra instead of Upward Facing Dog, and bent-knee Forward Folds to protect the lower back. The flow alternates sides with Crescent Lunges, Three-Legged Dog, and deep hamstring-focused Forward Folds, building momentum across multiple rounds. The pace is upbeat but the cuing is attentive and modification-friendly, making it ideal as a morning energizer or a gentle way to counter stiffness from sleep or sitting.
