About This Class
Bryan Kest leads a full-body, breath-centered dynamic flow that opens in Child's Pose and builds methodically through a dress-rehearsal approach to sun salutations before layering in Crescent Lunges, standing splits, one-legged arm balances, bow pose, and a deeply therapeutic floor sequence. Throughout, Bryan consistently invites students to work to their own degree — emphasizing a "modest rather than extreme" philosophy — and uses the quality of the breath as the primary barometer of appropriate effort. The class addresses the spine in multiple directions (cobra, bow, plow, twists), opens the hips and hip flexors extensively through low lunge and lizard variations, and lengthens the hamstrings in standing forward folds and wide-legged seated work. A cooling inversion sequence (plow, shoulder stand) precedes a reclining twist wind-down and a final Savasana. Nasal breathing, jaw softness, and mindfulness of the present moment are woven into every cue, making this as much a meditation in motion as a physical workout.
