About This Class
Bryan Kest leads a thorough, deliberate full-body flow that he describes as "massively mundane" — deeply foundational and intentionally unhurried. The class opens in child's pose with an extended focus on cultivating deep, fluid breathing as a meditative anchor, a theme that carries through every subsequent movement. From there, the sequence builds through down dog, cobra, plank, and sun-salutation-style vinyasas before moving into standing balances (airplane/warrior III variations), twisting lunges, runner's lunge, revolving lunge, triangle, and extended triangle on both sides. A wide-legged forward fold with interlaced hands behind the back provides shoulder and hamstring release, followed by a squat on tiptoes and lateral side stretches. The second half of the class is floor-heavy: low lunge with a deep hip-flexor slide, lizard-style hip openers held for extended periods on both sides, hero pose, reclined hero/saddle pose, camel, and finally supine spinal twists and knee-to-chest compressions before savasana. Bryan consistently cues students to back off if anything feels irritating and invites modifications throughout. The overall spirit is calm, sensuous, and introspective, with stamina and mild cardiovascular challenge woven naturally into the flow rather than forced.

Much gratitude, Bryan, truly, your practices are anything but “mundane”. Your class helped to release the past, while opening opportunities for new beginnings in 2021. Happy New Year, all!
