About This Class
Bryan Kest leads a full-body flow that systematically moves through every major muscle group while consistently returning to the central teaching: deep, free breathing as a vehicle for a quiet mind. The class opens in Child's Pose and Downward Facing Dog before building through a sun-salutation-style vinyasa, one-armed variations of Down Dog, and a demanding arm-balance/hip-opening sequence (including knee-to-tricep work and Flip Dog). Lower-body strength is developed via Crescent Lunge, Balancing Lunge, and single-leg balance squats. A wide-legged squat with a bound twist targets the hips and thoracic spine. The sequence then transitions to prone work — Cobra, Locust with interlaced hands, and a deep backbend option — before finishing on the floor with a wide-legged seated forward fold (with lateral variations over each leg), supine bicycles for core, and four rounds of spinal twists. The class closes with a seated gratitude meditation and a long Savasana. Bryan's coaching is as much philosophical as physical: he repeatedly frames gentleness as the highest form of challenge, discourages comparison, and encourages students to exit or modify at any point. Wrist sensitivity is explicitly acknowledged with a fist modification offered.
