About This Class
This 61-minute dynamic flow class with Byron de Marsé is built around a rich backbend journey — from foundational Sphinx and Cobra, through Bridge and Wheel variations, all the way to standing backbend sequences and Camel — while layering in hip-opening work (Pigeon, Dancer's Bridge, low-lunge variations), standing balances (Warrior Three, Half Moon, Dancer, Eagle), and core engagement throughout. The class opens in Child's Pose and a gentle tabletop warm-up, then systematically builds spinal mobility with particular attention to the thoracic spine. A pranayama segment with structured breath retention adds a meditative dimension. Byron consistently frames the practice around letting go of ego and perfectionism, encouraging students to work from the inside out, follow sensation, and modify freely. The class closes with Happy Baby, a final Bridge/Wheel option, supine twists, and a long Savasana with reflections on stillness and self-exploration.

Loved this dynamic sequence, especially many dancer’s bridges and half moon variations. With pleasure I paused the video and added a bird of paradise. Thank you!
