About This Class

This kid-friendly So Hum meditation flow introduces children to the concept that "so hum" means "I am" in yoga tradition. Led by Amanda, the class opens seated on the heels with breath awareness, then moves through a gentle sequence of downward facing dog, Warrior One on both sides, a wiggly forward fold, and chair pose, before returning to a quiet seated rest. Throughout each pose, kids are encouraged to breathe in "so" and breathe out "hum," and to fill in their own affirmation — "I am strong," "I am light," "I am silly," "I am brave," "I am calm" — making the practice both imaginative and emotionally nourishing. The class closes in a restful seated position with hands at heart center and a bow of gratitude. At just four minutes, it is perfectly paced for young attention spans and serves as a gentle introduction to mindfulness, self-expression, and basic yoga movement.
