About This Class

Bryan Kest leads a comprehensive, breath-first flow that methodically builds from child's pose and foundational breath awareness through progressively layered sun salutation sequences (cobra, plank, crescent lunge, core twist, warrior variations) before moving into standing balance work (one-legged standing balance / Urdhva Prasarita Eka Pada Asana, hand-to-big-toe balance), deep hip openers (malasana, butterfly/baddha konasana, half-lotus forward folds), shoulder stretches, a shoulder-stand/plow inversion block, supine twists, and a closing compassion meditation with savasana. Throughout, Bryan consistently frames the practice as sensation-led and self-directed — students are repeatedly invited to modify, skip, rest, or deepen based on personal feedback. The class targets the full body with particular emphasis on hamstrings, hips, spine, shoulders, and core, and layers cardio endurance with flexibility, strength, and balance work. The extended seated meditation distinguishes the class as much a mindfulness practice as a physical one, making it especially suited to stress relief and mental decompression alongside its physical benefits.

I very much enjoyed this practice, even on a day when my lower back was not in its best. There are a few one-arm downward dog balances that I modified but, overall, I found this to be a complete, interesting and satisfying class. Wonderful meditation right before the 90 minute mark. Thank you!
