About This Class
Bryan Kest leads a full-bodied, 94-minute flow class framed as a moving meditation on presence, moderation, and self-care. After a grounding breath-awareness opening, the practice builds methodically through a standing warm-up, repeated sun-salutation-like "dress rehearsal" rounds (Downward Facing Dog, Plank, Cobra, Chaturanga), and standing balance sequences on each leg — including Warrior-style lunges, one-legged airplane balance, and Warrior III transitions into a low twisted lunge with forearms on the floor. Mid-class intensity ramps up with 10 consecutive flow rounds, knee-to-elbow core work from Down Dog, and a Bow Pose/Locust variation on the floor. The class then transitions to seated and supine work: Baddha Konasana (Butterfly), Krakhasana (Crayon/Ear Pressure pose), a wide-leg reclined stretch, Plow Pose (Halasana), Shoulder Stand (Sarvangasana), and supine twists. Throughout, Bryan emphasises deep nasal breathing as the primary tool for stress relief, repeatedly coaching students to find their personal edge rather than go to maximum range, and reminding them that calm within challenge is the practice. The class closes with a generous Savasana and a reminder to transition slowly back to everyday life.
