About This Class
This class opens with grounding breathwork in child's pose before warming up the spine through threading-the-needle, cat-cow, and cobra sequences. The practice progressively builds heat with sun-salutation-style flows, runner's lunge twists, standing splits, warrior three (Virabhadrasana Three), and yogi squat, always offering modifications and encouraging the use of props. The middle section moves into a thorough hip-opening series featuring lizard pose with a lateral lat stretch, half and full splits, and a quad stretch with a bind. Both sides are worked symmetrically before descending into long-hold pigeon pose on each side—framed explicitly as yin-style work targeting stagnant tension, especially for those who sit or drive often. The class closes with staff pose (Dandasana), a seated forward fold, supine twists, knees-to-chest, and an extended Savasana. Throughout, the instructor emphasizes breath as a bridge between mind and body, encourages self-compassion, and consistently offers gentler options.

Great teacher, really caring and clever in the sequence building. Thank you!

Monica is a very positive, relaxing teacher. However, this class is closer to a gentle yin class than an active flow class.

Great class if u need a gentle flow. Loved it

Really good mellow class. It’s a gentle flow, not a sweat-inducing one, as others mention, but really enjoyable.

I so enjoy all of Monica’s classes. This is a great class for deeply exploring the nuances of the poses. Monica’s instructions are so calming and helpful. I think this is my new favorite.

Would classify this one as a gentle flow. Didn’t get the sweat I was hoping for but it was definitely restorative!
