About This Class

This expansive, vigorous class opens with an extended meditation on breath in child's pose, establishing pranayama as the "third rail" of every movement to follow. From there, the practice builds methodically through tabletop core work (bird-dog, cat-cow), high plank and downward facing dog cycles, and a standing warm-up sequence of mountain pose, forward folds, half lifts, and twists. The heart of the class is a rich standing flow repeated on both sides: Warrior Two, extended side angle, reverse warrior, reverse triangle, and twisted crescent, each revisited multiple times for deep familiarity and refinement. The balancing section demands sustained focus with standing splits, airplane pose, eagle pose (Garudasana), and half moon. Pigeon pose delivers a long, floor-based hip-opening interlude before the class transitions to boat pose core work, bridge pose, happy baby, plow pose, and shoulder stand. The class closes with a full-body tension-and-release before Savasana and a seated Namaste. Throughout, the instructor consistently frames the practice around breath quality, opposition of energy (extension vs. rooting), and the "nooks and crannies" of alignment, making it equally a mindfulness and strength experience.
