About This Class
Bryan Kest frames this hour-long flow as an act of self-care — "spending the next hour making an effort to touch yourself everywhere with love and care." The class builds methodically from Child's Pose and Down Dog through a warm-up sequence that echoes Tai Chi in its fluid repetition, then layers in increasingly complex shapes: side-plank balance variations, hip-opening lunges, Warrior/Hero pose (Virabhadrasana), Extended Side Angle, Triangle, deep standing backbends with bound shoulder clasps, and a knotted-leg bind (Eka Pada Koundinyasana-adjacent). Cobra pulses and plank push-ups generate heat throughout. The second half mirrors the first on both sides, ensuring bilateral balance. Supine twists and a knees-to-chest squeeze wind things down before Savasana, where Bryan explicitly instructs students to stop deep breathing and let the mind go silent. The throughline is breath: nasal, deep, and free at all times — if a pose prevents it, students are told to skip it. Modifications (blocks, bent knees, early exits) are offered generously, and the instructor repeatedly emphasizes personal pacing over achievement.

This was a lovely flow! One of my new favorites… a little bit of strength and balance, but nothing too extreme! Lots of love for this practice and for Melissa and Bryan always leading the way!
