About This Class

This energetic, hip-centric flow class begins with Pranayama breathing and supine warm-ups — including reclined tree pose, thread-the-needle, happy baby, and core work — before building through a progressive standing sequence. Students move through yogi squat, forward folds, crescent pose, standing splits, lizard, and warrior variations on both sides, then layer in triangle, half moon, and bound half moon for deep hip and hamstring work. Pigeon pose (both preparatory and full) is a central feature, approached from multiple angles and held with an emphasis on surrendering rather than forcing. The class also incorporates side plank with tree or toe-hold variations, dolphin pose, bridge and optional wheel, plow, and shoulder stand, closing with a seated forward fold, supine twists, and Savasana. Throughout, the instructor frames hip opening as a vehicle for presence, focus, and emotional release, encouraging students to meet their personal edge — flexible or strong — and to treat the practice as a tool for daily life beyond the mat.
