About This Class
This hip-focused flow class moves through a well-rounded sequence designed to progressively open and strengthen the hip complex. Beginning on all fours with gentle spinal waves and Downward Dog, the class builds heat through a dynamic Warrior One and Vinyasa series before moving into lateral hip openers like Parsvakonasana and Half Moon Pose. Standing twists, side-arm balances with optional big-toe bind, and low lunge variations with forearm drops deepen hip and groin release. The sequence culminates in Dynamic King Pigeon on both sides — including a backbend component — followed by a brief resting Pigeon, a supine twist, and Savasana. Throughout, the instructor emphasizes breath quality (Ujjayi), abdominal engagement, and femur-bone-pressing actions to create genuine joint opening rather than passive stretching, making this class equally effective for building lower-back strength and hip mobility.
