About This Class
This energetic hip-surplus flow begins supine with Supta Baddha Konasana and a reclining tree pose to establish breath and shoulder awareness before building into a full standing and balancing practice. The instructor guides students through repeated rounds of downward dog, crescent pose, Warrior One, Warrior Two with progressively deeper variations of extended side angle (heel-toeing the foot for increased hip depth), lizard pose, and pigeon—carefully layering intensity to suit all levels. Signature sequences include knee-to-elbow core work, one-legged Chaturanga, boat pose with half-lowering, figure-four chair balance, crow pose, and a flowing side-plank tree transition. The standing series features Warrior Three, standing splits, and a quad/hip-flexor stretch before melting into full pigeon. The class closes with seated Baddha Konasana, a seated forward fold, happy baby, plow pose, shoulder stand, supine twists, and Savasana. Throughout, Byron weaves mindfulness cues around breath steadiness, releasing fear of letting go, and the distinction between sensation and pain—making this class equally suitable for building hip mobility and cultivating a meditative, inward quality.
