About This Class
This 60-minute dynamic flow class with Dan Ward opens on the back with breathwork and hip-mobilization before moving through a rich progression of seated twists, Gomukhasana, Navasana, and arm-balance exploration (Bakasana). Sun Salutation A forms the structural spine of the class, linking into standing sequences including Pyramid, Triangle, Half Moon, Warrior Two, Side Angle, and wide-legged forward folds (Prasarita Padottanasana A and D). Deep hip-opening is revisited through both Pigeon pose with a bound variation and reclined figure-four threading. The class closes with Bridge and Urdhva Dhanurasana (wheel pose), a supine twist, and Happy Baby before Savasana. Throughout, Dan emphasizes breath steadiness, spinal length before twisting, inner-thigh engagement, and the philosophical idea that the way you handle difficulty on the mat mirrors how you handle difficulty in life. Props such as blocks and straps are offered as options for tight practitioners.

This class is slow, subtle and challenging. I really appreciate the way Dan talks us through the nuances of each stretch, emphasizing connection to breath and ourselves.
