About This Class
Bryan Kest leads this full-body dynamic flow beginning in child's pose with an emphasis on emptying the mind and establishing deep, fluid nasal breathing as the anchor of the practice. The warm-up builds through down dog, bird-dog variations, plank, chin-to-floor push-up variations, cobra, and locust/shalabhasana progressions that systematically heat the posterior chain. The standing sequence features crescent lunge, lunge twists, extended side angle, triangle pose, and warrior/hero variations, worked on both sides with options to deepen or modify at every stage. Crow-arm balance prep (knee-to-tricep holds) and a bow pose (dhanurasana) peak the physical intensity before the class descends into wide-legged forward fold, figure-four supine hip openers (reclined pigeon), supine twists, and a final savasana. Throughout, Bryan weaves in philosophy on yoga as "yoking the mind," Bruce Lee's empty-mind principle, humility, non-competition, and the importance of self-care. The class closes with a guided meditation of gratitude, inviting students to consciously cultivate thankfulness as a stress-reduction practice.
