About This Class
Bryan Kest leads a deeply intentional, unhurried flow class that treats breath awareness and mental stillness as the true "meat and potatoes" of practice. The session opens on the floor in child's pose with extended nose-breathing instruction before moving through a methodical vinyasa warm-up: Down Dog, twisted side-plank variations, Cobra, Locust, and repeated sun-salutation-style linking sequences. The standing portion layers single-leg balancing (airplane, standing splits prep, figure-four/tree), crescent lunge, warrior sequences, Warrior II, hero pose, and deep standing twists, all threaded together with an emphasis on finding a personal "sweet spot" rather than maximum depth. Hip flexor work features long-held low lunges and lizard-pose elbow variations on both sides. The floor sequence includes supine core work (boat-like leg lifts), plow pose, shoulderstand, supine twists, and a seated forward fold. The class closes with an extended gratitude meditation in seated stillness before Savasana. Throughout, Bryan consistently discourages ego-driven effort, encourages modifications (knees down, blocks), and frames every physical challenge as a training ground for calm, mindful response to life's stressors — making this class equally a meditation practice as a physical one.
