About This Class
This energetic yet introspective flow class with Bryan Kest builds systematically from child's pose and downward-facing dog through two progressive warm-up sequences that layer in cobra, plank, and crescent lunge. The heart of the class is a rich standing flow encompassing warrior one, warrior two, hero pose, reverse warrior, extended side angle, and twisting lunge variations — all performed on both sides. One-legged balancing sequences (airplane, standing splits variations) challenge stability and calmness. Students then choose between vertical splits or pigeon pose for deep hamstring/quad or hip work. The floor section includes butterfly/bound angle, supine leg lifts with a core twist, and spinal twists before a guided gratitude Savasana. Throughout, Bryan frames the practice as a mindfulness tool — being present, breathing deeply, and working at a personal degree — making it as much a mental training session as a physical one. No props are formally called for, though blocks are mentioned as an option for triangle/side-angle hands.
