About This Class

Fire is a heat-building, vigorous flow class led by Dan Ward that wastes no time getting the body working. The class opens supine with knee-hugs and deep core work — including boat pose (Navasana), oblique crunches, and leg-lowering — before moving through sun-salutation-style vinyasas with Chaturanga, Cobra, and Down Dog. The standing sequences layer on challenge with Warrior Two, Triangle (Trikonasana), Reverse Warrior, Eagle pose (Garudasana) unwinding into Warrior Three and Standing Split, and seated twists (Ardha Matsyendrasana). A Kapalabhati breath retention moment adds intensity to the core work. The class then transitions to the floor for deep hip-opening with Gomukhasana, including a lateral side-body stretch, followed by a seated forward fold, plow pose, and shoulder stand before a generous, mindfully guided Savasana. The instructor consistently cues alignment precision — inner thighs, belly lift, shoulder blade engagement — while encouraging practitioners to work at their own edge. The overall arc moves from fiery and energizing to grounding and restorative.
