About This Class
This vigorous flow class with Dan Ward invites students into a deeply breath-centered practice that balances physical challenge with meditative stillness. Beginning in child's pose and cat-cow to awaken the spine, the class builds through multiple rounds of Surya Namaskar before progressing into a rich standing sequence featuring Warrior One, Warrior Two, Warrior Three, Triangle Pose, Ardha Chandrasana, Parsvakonasana, Pyramid Pose, crescent pose twists, and a creative arm-threading lunge variation. Core work appears throughout — plank, forearm plank, Salabhasana, and side plank with leg lifts — keeping the torso engaged. The second half introduces deeper hip openers including double pigeon (Sukhasana stacked), Ardha Supta Ardha Virasana (half reclining hero), seated twists, Navasana, and happy baby before a full Savasana. Dan consistently draws attention inward, encouraging students to soften the eyes, steady the breath, and find a calm observer perspective amid vigorous effort. Alignment precision — pelvic neutrality, inner thigh activation, avoiding hyperextension — is woven throughout with thoughtful, accessible cuing.

Oh so thankful for this class. Strenuous at times, but never rushed. Dan’s tips on how to refine poses are easy to incorporate since he gives us enough time to adjust. Wonderful.
