About This Class

Bryan Kest leads this long-form, philosophy-rich flow class with deceptive simplicity: every movement is framed as an opportunity to "touch" the body with care rather than force, making the practice accessible to all levels while remaining genuinely demanding over its nearly two-hour arc. The class opens in Child's Pose with an extended breathwork foundation — nasal breathing with full lung capacity as the "meat and potatoes" of the practice — before building through multiple rounds of a six-movement sun-salutation-style warm-up (downward dog, standing forward fold, flat-back lift, plank, slow lower, cobra). From there, Bryan adds standing balance sequences including Warrior-inspired lunges, one-legged airplane/warrior III variations, hand-to-big-toe poses, and side-star balancing, interspersed with sets of three mindful push-ups. The second half moves to the floor for seated hip openers (wide-knee squat, half lotus forward fold, supine happy baby / "crotchasana," reclined wide-leg stretch), a camel backbend series on the knees, shoulder-stand / legs-overhead inversions, boat-pose abdominal work, supine spinal twists, and a generous Savasana. Throughout, Bryan consistently discourages competition and encourages self-directed effort, explicitly inviting students to modify at will and tune into sensation over aesthetics. The tone blends humor, philosophical provocation, and heartfelt instruction.
