About This Class
Bryan Kest's "Covering the Gamut" lives up to its name: this 67-minute vigorous flow leaves virtually no range of motion unexplored. The class opens in Downward Facing Dog with an extended focus on deep, conscious breathing as the foundation of mental stillness, then builds through a dynamic warm-up of cobra pulses, plank holds, and back-strengthening lifts before launching into a full standing sequence. Each side works through one-armed Down Dog, supreme balancing, knee-to-elbow core work, flipping the dog, side arm balances, crescent lunge, balancing lunge, twisting lunges, extended side angle, triangle, twisting triangle, and bound variations — all threaded together in a nonstop flow. A wide-legged seated forward fold, plow pose, and shoulder stand form the cool-down, before a guided Savasana emphasizing breath awareness and mental quietude. Throughout, Bryan repeatedly frames the practice as a challenge to calmness rather than a physical performance, encouraging modifications, self-regulation, and an attitude of non-competition. Props such as blocks are offered as options but not required. The class suits practitioners looking to build full-body strength, mobility, and flexibility while cultivating stress resilience and mindfulness.

The perfect class when hamstrings and hips needs some length and opening. Definitely covers the gamut. A little challenging in parts, but that’s ok – just modify….xx

Bryan, you suggested that this class is for beginners, however I am disappointed that you presume that a new student, of our blessed discipline, desires to hear and read ( from your shirt ) your vulgar language. I is my wishes that each new yogi does not learn that these obscene elements are part of a yoga practice. I would enjoy referring patients, from my practice, to your site, but I choose otherwise. I will end here and search for another class.
