About This Class
Led by Bryan Kest, "Captivation" is a richly layered 71-minute dynamic flow class that opens in child's pose with an emphasis on deep, free breathing as the central anchor of the practice. The class builds through a progressive warm-up sequence—down dog, standing forward folds, cobra, and crescent lunges—before moving into a challenging standing balance series that includes airplane pose, single-leg balance extensions, karate-chop leg kicks, and half-moon variations. The mid-section features a wide-legged standing sequence with deep hip openers, bound side angle variations, garland/squat pose, and intense forward folds with hands under feet. The floor sequence transitions through bridge pose and an optional wheel, into shoulder stand and plow, followed by supine twists and a final savasana. Throughout, Kest weaves philosophy around humility, non-reactivity, wellness over fitness, and gratitude — framing the breath as a tool for presence and healing. The class is suitable for practitioners who want full-body mobility, hip and hamstring opening, balance training, and a meditative, introspective tone alongside genuine physical challenge.
