About This Class
This energizing yet mindful flow class with Bryan Kest builds steadily from a gentle child's pose and down dog warm-up through a rich series of sun-flow sequences, creative standing balances, and deep floor work. The practice is organized around a repeating six-movement vinyasa (down dog → forward fold → standing → plank → cobra → down dog) used as both a structural anchor and a vehicle for refinement. Layered on top are "power yoga stroll" sequences that mimic walking with full-body engagement, standing balance challenges including airplane (Warrior III variation), twisted standing balance, extended leg holds, and one-legged forward folds. A dedicated floor section includes locust variations with interlaced hands, shoulder-opening backbends, supported shoulderstand and plow, core scissors/leg lifts, straddle forward folds, and supine twists. Throughout, Bryan frames every pose as an opportunity to touch and care for neglected body parts, repeatedly cueing deep nasal breathing as the primary tool for cultivating calm under physical challenge. The class closes with a long savasana emphasizing mental stillness and recovery.
