About This Class

Bryan Kest leads a characteristically thoughtful hour-long flow class framed around two guiding principles: calmness and safety. The session opens in Child's Pose with an extended focus on deep nasal breathing and mind-quieting, before moving through a progressive sequence of Downward Facing Dog, Bird-Dog/Superman variations, Cobra, Plank, and Locust with interlaced hands. A recurring motif of one-legged standing balance — including airplane-wing Warriors, Tree Pose, and single-leg standing splits — builds throughout the middle of class, with Bryan consistently coaching students to find a personal, moderate expression rather than pushing to extremes. The floor-based back-body strengthening series features Bow Pose (grabbing ankles), and later the sequence moves into supine hip openers (Happy Baby / ankle-to-knee), wide-leg and single-leg stretches, core work, Plow, Shoulderstand, Fish Pose, and supine twists before a generous, stress-melting Savasana. Bryan weaves in philosophical commentary on moderation, non-reactivity, and self-responsibility throughout, making the class as much a mental practice as a physical one. Ideal for anyone managing stress, sitting fatigue, general stiffness, or wanting to build balanced strength and mobility without intensity overwhelm.

Nice flow. I love the pace. I appreciate Bryan’s easy to follow directions as I do most of my practice with my eyes closed. Balance is so important as I age even though I fall, I keep practicing.

Great class, medium intensity. Lots of stability work. Enjoyed the words of wisdom that are sprinkled in.
