About This Class
This 106-minute dynamic flow with Bryan Kest opens at a deliberately slow, warm pace — child's pose, gentle cobra rehearsals, and tabletop arm-balance drills — before building through repeating sun-salutation-style sequences that layer in crescent lunge, standing twists, and balancing poses. The mid-class standing section is particularly rich: tree-inspired single-leg work with deep squats, twisted lunge, lizard-style hip openers, quad stretches with a bind, and full airplane balancing, all threaded together in a long standing sequence that challenges both strength and deep balance. A floor-based closing moves through locust variations, bow pose, reclined leg stretches, a supine core series, and supine twists before transitioning to seated meditation and savasana. Bryan's constant teaching theme is breath-centered mindfulness — he frames every pose as an opportunity to stay calm and present under pressure, discourages comparison and straining, and actively encourages creative modification (fists instead of palms for wrist sensitivity, knees down in plank, skipping poses entirely). The class ends with several minutes of guided breath-awareness meditation and an extended savasana.
