About This Class
This 71-minute dynamic flow class with Bryan Kest centers on twisting in every form — standing twists, lunge twists, triangle twists, balancing twists, and gentle supine twists at the close. The practice opens with child's pose and breath awareness before moving into sun salutations (surya namaskar) as a warm-up structure. From there, Bryan builds through a rich sequence that includes dolphin pose, one-legged down dog variations, low lunge and crescent lunge transitions, prayer twist (parivrtta anjaneyasana), twisting triangle (parivrtta trikonasana), triangle pose (trikonasana), figure-four standing balance (a reclined pigeon variation on one leg), and hip-opening yin-like holds in lizard. The spine is warmed from both directions with cobra backbends and a full seated forward fold before supine twists complete the arc. Throughout, Bryan consistently invites students to find their own personal "sensuous degree," discard comparison, and use breath as the primary guide. The class ends in a long savasana with a quiet, grounding tone. Suitable for those wanting to release spinal tension, open hips, decompress from daily stress, and cultivate mindful movement without ego-driven striving.
