About This Class

Bryan Kest guides practitioners through a richly layered 68-minute flow whose spine is a four-triangle sequence: basic triangle, twisting triangle, half-moon/balancing triangle, and a supine reclining triangle — each explored on both sides. The class opens in child's pose with an extended emphasis on conscious deep breathing as a meditative anchor, then builds heat through rounds of a sun-salutation-style vinyasa (downward dog, plank, cobra, forward fold, crescent lunge). An optional inversion sequence introduces tripod headstand, crow pose (Bakasana), and elbow balance for those comfortable inverting. Standing balance work includes crescent lunge, balancing lunge, and extended-hand-to-big-toe pose in multiple orientations. Floor work features reclining triangle variations with leg extensions, supine twists, and a core-engaged head-to-leg crunch. Throughout, Bryan frames the practice in his signature "hyper gentle" philosophy — moderation, personal intimacy with sensation, and non-competitiveness — and closes with a seated gratitude meditation followed by a quiet supine savasana focused on subtle breath awareness.

5 stars. Highly recommended. Inverted triangles, and triangles in general, are some of my favorite poses because they target areas that are easy to neglect. When I am tight in those areas, the tension spreads to other areas easily. When I practice triangles regularly, I feel optimized. These poses are in the original Power Yoga series (I bought on VHS!), which introduced me to Bryan and made me a devotee. This practice was a welcome variation. I often scroll through classes looking for poses I need and I ALWAYS look for triangles. Love and thanks.

Your sequencing was challenging, yet fun. It allows for curiosity of what the body and mind are capable of. Toward the end, as you invited us to explore gratitude, I would have liked to have had more silent time to focus on my own gratitude instead of the thoughts you were planting into my head. I finally paused the video so I could find my own stillness and gratitude. Your words are very insightful. However, I find them to be more appropriate during the work phases so I can enjoy the stillness and peace at the end. Although well intentioned, it’s hard to fully enjoy “silence” when someone is constantly talking.

Super intense but carefully measured flow went by in a blink of an eye! Well done — Brian, Peoria Heights, Ill.

Every time I yoga I hear something new, even though a lot of the content is the same. Plus, It always seems like what I need to hear at the time. After 15 years, some of those messages are sinking in. I don’t know how people make it through life without it. This is a great class!
