About This Class
Bryan Kest guides students through an expansive, all-encompassing practice that begins in a deeply mindful, yin-flavored reclined opening — cultivating meditative breath and acceptance — before building through bridge variations, shoulderstand, plow, wide-legged forward folds, seated poses, down dog, and a richly sequenced yang flow. The yang portion layers in three-legged dog, airplane (Warrior III variations), half-moon with a twist (Parivrtta Ardha Chandrasana), side plank, locust, bow, deep cobra and king cobra, as well as repeated plank-to-cobra-to-down-dog transitions that develop functional strength alongside suppleness. Balancing poses challenge single-leg stability; inversions (shoulderstand, plow) are held long for restorative benefit. The class closes with supine twists, a gratitude meditation, and Savasana. Throughout, Bryan emphasises gentleness over depth, equanimity over ego, and breath as the primary measure of effort — making the practice as much a mindfulness training as a physical one. Suitable for practitioners who want a thorough, full-body experience that honours both strength and flexibility without aggressive intensity.
