About This Class
Rudy Mettia leads this energizing, full-body power yoga flow that systematically builds from a ceremonial Child's Pose and exploratory Down Dog warm-up through three rounds of Sun Salutations, then dives deep into an ambitious standing sequence. The class features Crescent Lunge, Warrior One, Warrior Two, Extended Side Angle (Parsvakonasana), Revolved Warrior, Half Moon, Triangle, and Standing Split, all linked by Vinyasa transitions with Cobra and Up Dog. Rudy weaves in balancing challenges including Side Plank with kickstand variations, Thread the Needle, Eagle arms, and a kneeling backbend with quad stretch. Hip mobility is addressed through Yogi Squat, Figure-Four (Thread the Needle standing), and Virasana. Seated twists, Happy Baby, and Savasana provide a measured cool-down. Throughout, Rudy offers approachable modifications (knee down, forearm to thigh, blocks) while playfully pushing students toward their edge. The class is framed as a stress-release and energy-shift practice, and Rudy references a study linking leg-muscle work to cognitive function, giving the leg-heavy sequencing an added sense of purpose.

A notch above challenging, so had to respect my limits. So that was a great practice on pulling back when I needed. The class incorporated twists, balancing, core… all the fun stuff:)
