About This Class
Rise and Shine is a brisk yet mindful flow designed to wake the body up and build functional strength and mobility across the full body. The class opens in Downward Facing Dog with cat-cow warm-up, then moves through plank variations, Sunbird/Bird-Dog core work, and progressive Downward Dog leg lifts before transitioning into standing sequences. Multiple rounds of Surya Namaskar A and B create heat and establish breath-movement synchronization. Standing work includes Crescent Pose, Warrior One, Warrior Two, Extended Side Angle, Triangle Pose, and Half Moon, with the instructor offering consistent alignment cues and modification options throughout. A brief but effective backbend series on the belly (locust-style) and Upward Facing Dog build spinal extension before the class winds down through a low-lunge twist, Dancer's Bridge (side plank variation), Pigeon Pose on both sides, Paschimottanasana, and Shavasana. The instructor frames the practice as a presence and peace meditation in motion, encouraging practitioners to use the abbreviated format to learn how to arrive in poses efficiently and let go more quickly.

A somewhat non linear class, but the poses are great and the overall design is fun. Not as fast as I thought, but it does pick up at the end.
