About This Class
Bryan Kest leads a richly layered flow class centered on lunge variations and spinal twists, framed from the very start as a mind-body practice where deep, free breathing is the true "meat and potatoes." The class opens in Child's Pose and Downward Facing Dog, gradually warming the body through tabletop balance work, cobra repetitions, and standing forward folds before building into an extended lunge-and-twist sequence. Students move through crescent lunges, low lunge hip openers (elbows to the floor), progressive twists from a core-bracing rotation to prayer twist and full revolved lunge, extended side-angle work, triangle pose, hero pose, and camel pose. The standing sequence is bookended by seated hip openers (double-pigeon / fire-log style), a two-minute bicycle crunch series for core endurance, and supine twists before a long, meditative Savasana. Throughout, Bryan consistently invites modification — dropping the back knee, using a block, or simply resting in Child's Pose — and emphasizes quality over depth, calmness over effort, and sustained breath as the anchor for both physical and mental wellbeing.
