About This Class

Loving Sundays II is a full two-hour vigorous flow class led by Bryan Kest that begins with an extended settling-in period, emphasizing nasal breathing and complete lung capacity as the foundation for everything that follows. The class eases into Downward Facing Dog, tabletop balancing, and Cobra before layering in a flowing warm-up series that strings together squat-to-fold, lunge sequences (Warrior-style hip lunges on both sides), and Plank-to-Cobra-to-Down Dog rounds. From there, Bryan introduces standing balance work — single-leg balance, hand-to-big-toe extensions, and Warrior-III-style airplane holds — followed by deep standing side bends and wide-legged forward folds with twists. The heart of the class cycles through extensive lunge, twist, and side-angle variations on both sides, including vertical split prep (splits at the wall / front splits), before moving to the floor for Locust, Bow pose, and a sustained Cobra. The floor sequence closes with plow variations, shoulder stand, supine leg stretches, happy-baby-style hip openers, a seated wide-leg balance, and gentle spinal twists before a long, integrative Savasana. Throughout, Bryan consistently coaches quality of movement and breath over depth or appearance, and repeatedly reminds students to back off whenever something doesn't feel right — especially for fragile knees and any discomfort in the neck during inversions.

I really enjoyed this old-school class: it was a leisurely pace, worked the deep muscles well, and what’s important: the fascia, and I really relaxed at the end. Thank you, Bryan!

Man I love these vintage classes. I was feeling weak today so skipped the third quarter, yet I still sucked a lot of juice out of this strong class. 🙂
