About This Class
This energetic yet philosophy-rich class moves through a full-body vinyasa-style flow anchored in deep nasal breathing as the primary meditative tool. Bryan opens in Child's Pose before building a repeating six-movement sequence — Down Dog, Forward Fold, Standing Reach, Plank, Cobra, and back — that gradually warms the body. The practice then layers in side plank variations, Crescent Lunge, low lizard-style hip openers, bow pose (Dhanurasana), locust-family back-strengthening holds, and balancing sequences before moving to the floor for seated wide-leg balance, plow/shoulder stand, supine twists, and a long Savasana. Throughout, Bryan consistently cues students to find their personal "sweet spot" between too much and not enough, frames yoga as meditation through breath focus, and encourages levity and humility over ego-driven effort. The class is well-suited for releasing tight hips and hamstrings, countering desk posture, building spinal strength, and decompressing from stress — all while developing genuine body awareness and a quiet mind.

Classic B.K. practice — From the foundational wisdom and accompanying philosophy and levity throughout, to the simple (yet challenging) strengthening, stretching, relaxing sequence, this is a class I am grateful to return to again and again, and to share with others as a solid introduction to Power Yoga.
