About This Class

In this short but profound seated meditation, instructor Desiree Crossman introduces her signature "DMT" practice — an acronym she frames as Deep Meditation Transference or Transcendence, inspired by the idea of a "spirit molecule" that connects practitioners to a higher conscious awareness. The class begins with a body and breath inventory, inviting students to notice whether they are breathing shallow or deep, into the belly or chest only. Desiree then layers in a three-part yogic breath (belly, thoracic cavity, clavicular), a breath hold at the top of the inhalation, and a transition into Ujjayi breath with a soft mouth exhale. From there, the practice settles into pure observation — thoughts are visualized as passing clouds — while Desiree weaves in reflections on the nervous system, circulatory system, prana/chi, chakras, and the spine as a vessel of energy. The closing sequence introduces a gentle mudra flow: hands float off the thighs, palms draw together to gather energy, thumbs move to the sternum, third eye, lips, and finally the heart center in a gratitude gesture. The overall tone is deeply spiritual yet non-dogmatic, framed around the universal gift of breath and the empowering act of learning to be still.
