About This Class
Bryan Kest leads this creatively named "Croon" (Crying + Half Moon) class as a continuous dynamic flow that prioritizes breath awareness, mental stillness, and moderate self-paced effort over intensity or depth of pose. The class opens in Child's Pose and Down Dog before moving through rounds of Sun Salutation-style vinyasa linking Forward Fold, Plank, Cobra, and Down Dog. The heart of the class features extended one-legged balancing sequences on each side — including Airplane (Warrior III variant), a "Bruce Lee" / Warrior III karate-chop variation, Dancer Pose, and the signature "Croon" (Ardha Chandrasana / crying half-moon variation) — all explored with a strong emphasis on proprioceptive tuning and calm breath throughout transitions. A seated ab sequence follows, incorporating a challenging boat-pose-inspired spread-leg balance, Robin Hood Pose (big-toe hold with leg extension), seated twists, leg lifts, and a bridge/wheel hip-lift variation. The floor cool-down includes supine twists on both sides, a knee-to-chest release, and an extended Savasana with a mindfulness prompt. Throughout, Bryan repeatedly coaches students to work to a "sweet degree," avoid force, keep the breath smooth and audible, and treat the practice as a loving, sensuous dialogue with the body. Cautions or modifications are offered organically — bent knees in forward folds, knees-down plank, and props for balance — but no explicit contraindications for specific conditions are named.

I love a class like this because I chose to make modifications, and that’s a powerful mental practice. Thanks, Bryan!

Very sad to hear about Yoga Tree (I used to go to your workshops and master-classes there). Zuda in Sacramento also closed. Thank you for remaining steadfast in your devotion to teach this stuff. You have been a yoga rock for a long time now. Thanks to Melissa, too!

Thanks for another amazing practice. I love melting like jello into the floor. That was awesome!

excellent practice of witnessing something that I may not like very much , and then simultaneously not judging it as good or bad….such a challenge to just be the witness . be neutral. oh yea

Thanks for the warning… toes and legs were definitely crooning with that burning flow. Left the ego on the floor as needed breaks were in order. So this practice was also one of humility…so much gratitude for this practice on so many levels. Namaste !

Love this practice. I think my crooning was more in the crashing mode which made me laugh. Thank you, always good to laugh.
