About This Class

This dynamic 70-minute flow with Bryan Kest centers on building upper-body strength and awareness through repeated cobra progressions, plank holds, knee-to-elbow core work, and tricep-engaged arm balance drills (knee on tricep). The session opens in child's pose and downward-facing dog, then builds heat systematically through bird-dog, plank-to-chin lowerings, Superman/locust variations, dolphin pose, and Pada Hastasana. Standing work includes crescent lunge, warrior-style hero holds with a deliberate one-minute challenge to stay calm as sensation builds, and extended side angle with both arms reaching. Hip openers in a seated figure-four stretch and supine twists provide recovery before savasana, which is guided into a two-minute gratitude meditation. Throughout, Bryan weaves mindfulness cues—breath awareness, staying present, releasing expectations—making this as much a meditation practice as a physical one. Modifications (dropping knees, using blocks, exiting early) are offered generously; those with knee or hip sensitivities are invited to find an alternative comfortable pose.

Whew…Grateful for the tingling in my arms after that one !!! But must say I missed having a little bit of the sun salutations at the beginning. But as always so grateful to have this practice and thank you Bryan and Melissa for doing this every day!!

Amazing, Bryan! I wish now that I chose to shovel snow, until AFTER my yoga practice. Following our upper body “burn”, I was grateful for our “hand-stand”. Namaste
