About This Class

Bryan Kest leads a dynamic, hour-long flow class that is as much a meditation on mindfulness and self-compassion as it is a physical workout. The class opens in Child's Pose with an extended invitation to establish deep nasal breathing — the anchor the instructor returns to throughout the entire session. From there, students move through a progressively building sequence: Down Dog, Bird Dog (opposing arm and leg extensions on hands and knees), Cobra, Locust (arms like airplane wings), Plank, modified push-ups, and a creative series of standing balance poses including Three-Legged Dog, Warrior-inspired transitions, and "Awkward Airplane" hip-opening balance work. Twisting side plank variations, Bow Pose (Dhanurasana) with a bent-knee bind, and a wide-legged seated forward fold round out the standing and floor work. The class closes with a supine sequence: Happy Baby, reclined leg stretches, Plow Pose, Shoulder Stand, core leg-lowering work, and gentle spinal twists, ending in Savasana. Throughout, Bryan consistently discourages ego-driven effort, encourages self-paced modification, and frames physical challenge as practice for responding calmly to life's difficulties. Props are not required but a block is optionally mentioned for balance transitions.

A nice class but not too physically intense.

Excellent Class, enjoy his patience and perspective. The physical component is secondary to the discipline, as it should be.
