Tai Chi – Lesson 2: Repulse the Monkey

First movement of the form. Repulse the monkey movement brings the waist and core twisting into the picture for you to feel the 6 harmonies experientially in Tai chi play. In the warm up we bring the co-ordination and connection between shoulders, elbows and wrists together and then add the waist to start to experience the 6 Harmonies at play in an easy, whole body loosening, exercise. Working out with a deceptively challenging yet simple exercise ‘Tai Chi Walkingʼ. This takes walking to a whole new level with core engagement and activation to build the most powerful yet relaxed core and legs you could dream of. Anyone wanting to protect and give optimum longevity to your hips, knees and ankles - this is the exercise for you.

As I age, I'm looking for other strong yet gentle ways to keep my body healthy. I'm so pleased to be able to add Tai Chi movements to my practice. Thank you.
