About This Class
This vigorous, long-format flow class opens with five minutes of inversions (Down Dog, Uttanasana, or handstand) to reverse circulation and "recharge," before settling into Ujjayi breath and sankalpa (intention). The bulk of the class is built on layered Surya Namaskar A cycles, progressively adding Utkatasana, Warrior One, and increasingly complex standing-balance sequences on each side: twisting half-moon, standing splits, Warrior Three, Parsvottanasana, Parivrtta Trikonasana, and Anjaneyasana with a bound backbend. Deep lizard-style hip-opener sequences on both sides include a thigh stretch with quad bind, and a hip-external-rotation variation targeting the gluteus minimus and medius. Arm-balance work includes Malasana transitions into Bakasana, Parsva Bakasana, and play with Kukutasana, Tolasana, Lolasana, and Urdhva Sukhasana, often seeded through half- and full-lotus wraps in Dandasana with the three Bandhas and Jalandhara Bandha lock fully engaged. The class closes with Salamba Sarvangasana (shoulder stand), Halasana, Karnapidasana, a supine twist, and Savasana. Throughout, the instructor weaves philosophical cues around "the razor's edge," non-bullying effort, and single-pointed focus, making this as much a mindfulness practice as a physical one.

This has been heavy in my rotation lately. Really tough, rewarding yoga.

This is my favorite class, only because it is one of the most challenging ones and I`m still miles away from doing all positions, but it keeps me willing to try every time I watch it. Thank you so much Hilaire.

Super challenging class for me. Fast paced flow with some long holds. I had to check the screen a few times during long silences to make sure it wasn’t buffering. I will be repeating this class more so I can get used to the speed and incorporate some modifications.
