About This Class
Bryan Kest leads this dynamic flow class with a consistent message: moderation, self-awareness, and breath as the true foundation of yoga practice. The class opens gently in Child's Pose, establishing deep nasal breathing as the through-line — framed as a meditation in motion where a quiet mind is the primary goal. From there, students move through a carefully rehearsed Sun Salutation sequence (Down Dog, Cobra, Plank, Chaturanga) before layering in progressively more complex standing and balancing work: Bird Dog variations on all fours, twisting low lunges, crescent lunges, Warrior sequences, standing forward folds, Goddess/standing frog pose with lateral openers, and an extended Pigeon-like hip-opening sequence on both sides. The floor section includes Bow Pose, seated forward fold, supine hip stretches, a leg-lowering core series, Plow/shoulder stand, and spinal twists, closing in Savasana. Bryan repeatedly cues students to back off, put knees down, and choose the intensity that matches their body rather than competing or copying. The class is framed as suitable for a wide range of practitioners and conditions, with gentleness and calmness positioned as non-negotiable boundaries alongside safety.

I love the concept. Only wish our culture practiced this skill set about 4-6 years ago. You mentioned it in class. Turn off the screen that’s flashing stuff in front of your face telling you how to think…… nice if it was viable outside of a yoga class too.

Leigh, I agreed with you, I also did not miss the standing leg balances. ;>) Even without them, significant “umph” was required for this class. Bryan, I appreciated your minimizing crude language. Namaste
Leigh
I didn’t miss the leg balances.
