About This Class
Mac Daddy is Bryan Kest's signature long-form vigorous flow, built around the principle that deep, smooth breathing is both the tool and the goal. The class opens with breathwork and a seated hip opener before moving through a progressive full-body warm-up: down dog, tabletop balancing, cobra, and locust. From there, Bryan constructs two mirror-image sequences — one per side — that each layer a one-armed down dog variation, balancing arm-balance transitions, a deep low-lunge series (runner's lunge, crescent lunge, prayer twist, warrior II / hero, extended side angle, and extended triangle), and a standing split flow that culminates in the class's namesake pose, Parivrtta Ardha Chandrasana (revolved half-moon / "Mac Daddy"). Between sides, push-up and cobra cycles build upper-body endurance without overwhelm. The floor sequence includes figure-four seated stretches with lateral neck release, a deep forward fold, plow/shoulderstand, and a two-minute silent gratitude meditation before savasana. Throughout, Bryan emphasises self-compassion, breath primacy over depth, and personalising every pose — making the class simultaneously accessible and deeply challenging.
