About This Class
Hip-notic is an expansive, breath-centered flow class built around unlocking the hips from every angle. Bryan Kest leads students through a deliberate warm-up in child's pose and down dog before progressing into a rich sequence that includes three-legged dog with knee-to-elbow variations, plank, cobra, standing forward folds, wide-legged standing poses, side-angle variations, goddess/frog squats, Indian squat (malasana), deep frog pose on the forearms (described as "the king or queen of all hip stretches"), seated twists, core work with straight-leg lifts, reclined twists, and a closing gratitude meditation. Shoulder counter-poses — including hands clasped behind the back, one hand between the scapulas, and reverse table-top — are woven throughout to balance the upper body. Bryan's coaching is deeply philosophical, consistently emphasizing sensitivity, personal thresholds, breath freedom, humility, and non-competition. The pace is deliberate and contemplative despite the physical demand, making it accessible to a wide range of practitioners willing to work at their own degree.

I adored everything about this class. The pacing was perfect, and so much good stretching: the dog dog stamina series, side stretching, all the sweet frog time (standing and laying down). All delicious; I felt fantastic afterwards!

Bless you, Bryan and Melissa, thank you for your support, time, and energies. Bryan, the changes in neural pathways, of which you spoke, are a completely natural process of Life, called Neuroplasticity. This ability of the brain to change results from mental practice, which disconnects certain nerve cells from each other and creating new connections to other neurons. Thus, we may produce and release habitual thoughts and behaviors, and make new thoughts and behaviors, through patience, practice and focus. Thank you, Innate Intelligence. Namaste
