About This Class
This expansive dynamic flow class begins on the ground with a deliberate, unhurried warm-up — downward dog, cobra, and balancing table — before layering in vinyasa sun salutation sequences that grow progressively more challenging with each pass. Students move through standing poses including warrior (Virabhadrasana), extended side angle, twisting triangle (Parivrtta Trikonasana), and extended side angle variations, then descend into deep hip-opening lunges with pigeon-style floor holds targeting the glutes, hip flexors, and inner thighs. A wide-legged forward fold and shoulder-opening bind provide contrast before the class moves into backbending — cobra, camel (Ustrasana) — then transitions to the floor for seated forward folds, supine core work (knee-to-elbow, scissor legs), plow/shoulder stand (Sarvangasana), and spinal twists. Throughout, Bryan emphasizes moderation over extremity, breath over aesthetics, and mental focus as the true practice. The class closes with a guided savasana and short meditation. Suitable for all levels willing to self-regulate; modifications are consistently offered.
