About This Class

This class zeroes in on the calves as its primary focus, using a block to elevate the ball of the foot in Pyramid Pose (Parsvottanasana) and Standing Split to create targeted calf and hamstring lengthening. The flow weaves in twisting sequences — including Twisting Triangle and a supine-to-plank twist with optional Chaturanga — to open the back body and spine while maintaining lower-body engagement. A Virasana (Hero's Pose) section on the floor offers a deep quad and shin release, complemented by single-leg forward folds, seated straddle stretches, and a cross-legged forward fold with lateral variations. The instructor frequently cues hip alignment, spinal length, and breath awareness, framing the practice as a moving laboratory for present-moment attention. Props (blocks) are integral throughout; modifications are offered for tighter hamstrings, sensitive knees, and wrist discomfort. The class closes with Sukhasana twists and an extended Savasana, making it ideal for post-activity recovery or anytime lower-body mobility work.
