About This Class

This approachable flow opens on the mat with child's pose and cat-cow to settle the central nervous system before moving through a rhythmic sequence of downward facing dog, plank, dolphin plank, sphinx, and cobra. The standing portion builds through crescent pose and crescent twists, chair pose and chair twists, before exploring crow pose and side plank variations (Vasisthasana with a dancer's bridge). The class then descends back to the floor for half splits (Ardha Hanuman), low lunge hip flexor work, and pigeon pose on both sides, followed by seated forward folds, boat pose (Navasana and Ardha Navasana), and supine twists before resting in Savasana. Throughout, Dan consistently emphasizes calming the nervous system, breathing through the nose, reducing aggression and ego, and approaching the practice — and life — from a place of peace and self-acceptance. The pacing is moderate, the tone philosophical and gentle, making it ideal for those seeking a grounding, mobility-rich practice that nurtures both body and mind.

Thank you, Dan, my visiting daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed your practice, which offered wonderful philosophy, and clear and pure guidance. A cue for a resting pose was provided, allowing us to create our own restful opportunity. May the Universe seek a peaceful approach, as we enter our Holiday season and a new year. Namaste.
