About This Class

This class centers on King Arthur Pose, a wall-supported kneeling quad and psoas stretch, introduced progressively after an extensive warm-up that works the feet, calves, and lower legs in Virasana and Toes Pose before moving through multiple rounds of Surya Namaskar. The standing sequence includes Warrior One, Warrior Two, Warrior Three, Reverse Warrior, and Standing Split, all building hip-flexor length and body awareness needed for the peak pose. A deep Pigeon series — including a wall-assisted King Pigeon variation — targets the hip flexors, quads, and outer hips. Core engagement is threaded throughout via Plank, Side Plank, forearm Down Dog, and knee-to-nose/tricep transitions that double as handstand preparation. The instructor weaves in philosophical reflection on presence, breath, and the courage to face discomfort. The class closes at the wall with supine butterfly and Viparita Karani (legs up the wall) as an restorative Savasana option, leaving students grounded and open through the entire front body.
